Event Details for Paint the Town: Madisonville (non-painting volunteers)

Thank you for volunteering with Paint the Town, a program of Give Back Cincinnati, on Saturday, June 11. We will be painting the homes of 31 families throughout Madisonville. It will take each and every one of you for us to complete the amazing feat of completing 31 houses in a single day.

  • 7:45am to 8:30am | Registration and breakfast

  • 8:45am | Volunteers dismissed to buses
  • 4pm | Painting concludes
  • Don’t forget to join our after party once you finish painting

Weather

Regardless of the forecast, please plan on showing up for registration. Any changes  due to weather will be determined at registration.

Registration

Registration will take place in St. Paul’s gymnasium which is adjacent to Medpace’s back parking lot (4820 Stewart Avenue). Please car pool if at all possible and be sure to arrive 10 minutes before your start time.
As a non-painting volunteer, please check-in with Andrea Lemkuhl at the red Give Back Cincinnati tent located in the grassy area closest to the church.
All volunteers that did not register online must fill out a waiver to participate in Paint the Town.

Parking Direction | 7am to 9am

After Party Set-up | 10am to 2pm

Supply Return | 2pm to 5:30pm & 4:30pm to 7pm

 

Staying Hydrated

Make sure to grab a Paint the Town water bottle at registration. You’ll be provided water at the house.

Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast is being provided e during registration. Breakfast will include breakfast sandwiches, donuts, bananas, milk, juice, and coffee.
Lunch will be delivered to your house between noon and 1pm. We will have Chick-fil-A sandwiches as well as Grippos chips and cookies. If you have special dietary needs, we recommend bringing a bagged lunch.

What to Bring

Wear clothes you aren’t afraid to get a little dirty; t-shirts will be provided for all volunteers. Your shoes should be sturdy with closed toes (no flip-flops) and don’t forget to apply sunscreen and maybe even some bug spray! You may want to bring a hat/sunglasses, but leave your valuables at home.

After Party

After a hard day of work, please join us for our after party! This will take place outside of Medpace (registration location). There will be music, hot dogs, hamburgers, mac and cheese, snacks, and (of course) beer. Remember, we will ID everyone drinking. Each volunteer will receive two food tickets and two beer tickets. Additional beers can be purchased for $2.

What is Paint the Town?

Paint the Town is a program within Give Back Cincinnati, a local nonprofit. The annual event paints the exterior of approximately 40 homes in a single day, thanks to corporate sponsors that provide funding and nearly 1,200 volunteers who provide labor.

Madisonville has been selected for Paint the Town 2016! This will be the second time Madisonville has hosted the event, which last took place here in 2005.

This event has painted nearly 500 homes in 15 years, accumulating nearly 80,000 volunteer hours. Since its inception in 2001, Paint the Town has taken place in the following communities: Columbia Tusculum, Price Hill, Northside, Madisonville, Carthage & Hartwell, College Hill, Covington, Evanston & Avondale, Bellevue & Dayton, Cheviot, Norwood, Latonia and Westwood.
