The rain couldn’t keep volunteers away from painting in 2010. Although the original Paint the Town was rescheduled because of weather, an amazing number of volunteers attended the make-up date. Evanston and Avondale underwent a makeover with a total of 58 houses painted in one day. To view some of the houses and the volunteers that made it happen, Click Here.

The day dawned sunny and perfect for painting as volunteers gathered in the Elder High School athletic center to sign up for teams, get water bottles, t-shirts and breakfast, and board buses for houses. After painting, we gathered back in the Elder Pit for cornhole, giveaways, impromtu tag football and fun. Thanks to Elder, Santa Maria Community Services, Price Hill Will, Chick-fil-a, Vonderhaars Catering, Potbelly, Dewey’s Pizza, Christian Moerlein and all of our house sponsors.

We painted more than 47 houses in the Covington community with more sponsors and volunteers than previous years.

It just keeps growing…2007 saw the event grow by another 15% and provide a dramatic facelift for 35 homeowners in the College Hill community. We kicked off the day (with fantastic weather) in a central parking lot and teams dispersed via bus to their homes. Many new and old sponsors enjoyed a day of teambuilding while helping the community. It was an amazing site to see so many people crawling over so many homes…all across the neighborhood. The teams wrapped up a terrific day of service, came back to home base, registered their house’s completion at the house-o-meter and then relaxed with friends. The College Hill community was so inspired that they gathered a group of local volunteers and re-painted their city hall….thank you to the great support of that community council and the way the truly embraced our spirit of volunteerism.

Volunteers descended in droves upon the Hartwell/Carthage neighborhoods. Although Mother Nature did not fully cooperate, volunteers were able to power through the day with a positive attitude and complete the majority of the 30 homes. Those homes that were not completed on the day of the event were wrapped up in subsequent weekends with the help of our all-star volunteers. Sherman Williams again helped with the paint as more sponsors joined in to continue expanding this event. The day’s accomplishments were celebrated with a great post-party at the Fair Grounds where the ‘dirtiest volunteer’ was crowned and people enjoyed stretching out with some food, refreshments, and music after a day of volunteering.

Twenty five houses painted in a single day. Twenty-one corporate teams joined 4 Give Back Cincinnati teams to change the lives of 25 home owners. The weather was a bit scary with a slight drizzle in the morning, but ultimately the rain held off. Fivenew corporate sponsors were added in 2005, and two companies expanded their commitment to the project by doing two houses. It’s the support of corporate teams that allows us to continue to grow the event, and impact the lives of more homeowners. This will allow us to eventually get to our goal of painting over 100 houses in a single day, and changing the real value of an entire community. The Sherwin-Williams Company graciously donated all the paint, as well as hundreds of paintbrushes.

Houses:18; Participants: 525; Total Volunteer Hours: 2230 Eighteen houses entire houses painted in a single day. As the event grows larger the impossible seems much more possible, and the determination of our teams of volunteers is amazing. Fourteen Corporate Teams, and four Give Back Cincinnati exclusive teams came together to complete the unthinkable. While rain shortened the day at 2:30 PM, it didn’t stop us from completing the task four weeks later. Over 525 dedicated volunteers came out on June 12. The Sherwin-Williams Company graciously donated all the paint, while Home Depot once again stepped up with the necessary supplies.

Houses: 11; Participants: 250; Total Volunteer Hours: 2,250 UNBELIEVABLE! We were nervous but it’s now history! Paint the Town 2003 fought off the rain, and wow, what an improvement! With the help of our amazing volunteers, and the generous donations of our sponsors Give Back Cincinnati successfully completed the painting of 11 houses in Price Hill. That’s a 250% increase over last year’s effort in Columbia/Tusculum.

Paint four entire houses in a single day?!?! If you were there, you probably didn’t think it could happen…heck, if you were planning it, you sometimes doubted it could happen. But Give Back proved that anything is possible with 130 dedicated volunteers and our strong sponsors, at Paint the Town 2002. The Sherwin-Williams Company graciously donated all the paint, while Home Depot once again stepped up with the necessary supplies…and by 5:30pm, after nine consecutive hours of scraping, priming, and painting, the work was complete.
