Applications Available For

Give Back Cincinnati’s Paint the Town 2009

CINCINNATI — January 8, 2009 — Applications are now available for pick-up for Give Back Cincinnati’s Paint the Town 2009 in Price Hill.

Paint the Town (http://paintthetowncincinnati.org/) is a community service event organized by Give Back Cincinnati in which volunteers work within a targeted neighborhood to paint owner-occupied homes for those physically or financially unable to do the work themselves. Paint the Town is a single day event that organizes over 1200 volunteers led by experienced team leaders to completely repaint a home’s exterior. Neighborhoods are chosen through a competitive process according to current needs.  Paint the Town’s ultimate goal is to not only improve the appearance and value of each of the homes, but to impact the overall community.

Neighborhoods are chosen according to current needs and all qualified homeowners are encouraged to apply for the volunteer-driven service from Give Back Cincinnati.  Eligible participants must be located in Price Hill, must own and live in their home, be physically or financially unable to complete the work and the home must be in NEED of being painted to improve the appearance and value of the home. The homes are sponsored by local businesses and the service is provided at no cost to the home owners.

The application deadline is Saturday, February 14, 2009.  The event will take place Saturday, June 13, 2009 (in case of a rain-out, the event will be completed on Saturday, July 11th).  Completed applications can be returned to Price Hill Will or any of the Santa Maria Community Services’ locations; addresses for all locations are listed below.

For questions, contact the Give Back Cincinnati hotline at 513-651-4483 or send an email topaintthetown@givebackcincinnati.org.  Home owners will be notified in May of their selection of the event.  More information is also at the PTT website http://paintthetowncincinnati.org/.

Beulah Singleton, one of the Covington homeowners from 2008, had this to say about the application, “It was brief, to the point.  It did not ask any questions that I minded answering to strangers.”

The application, as described by many Covington homeowners from 2008 PTT as being “short and simple,” is available at the following locations; also at many local Price Hill churches and local businesses as well,

This will be the second time that Paint the Town will be in Price Hill.  The first time was in 2003 for the second edition of Paint the Town.  East Price Hill was the focus and 11 houses were painted by 250 volunteers.  All of Price Hill will be the focus of 2009’s Paint the Town.
